Why this game exists

I wanted a fun and strategic game that can be played with a simple deck of playing cards with as many people as I’d like, whether that’s at home or whilst travelling.

That way it’s accessible to anyone who has cards. You’re not forced to buy yet another boxed game. Grab a standard deck (or two, depending on player count), learn the rules from this site, and play.

And because I cannot let the spook of Halloween wait for one moment in the year—Deathwick is here so the candle can flicker whenever you need it.

How you can play (now and later)

• With your own cards - Use the manual and any standard playing cards. No purchase required.
• Physical copy (planned) - For those who want to feel more immersed, I’d like to get the game printed so people can buy a physical copy with dedicated art and components.
• Steam & mobile (planned) - The current browser version doesn’t offer online multiplayer. A proper Steam and/or mobile release would aim to fix that and deliver a better, more polished digital experience.
• Tabletop Simulator - I’m also creating Deathwick in Tabletop Simulator for people who prefer playing that way online with friends.
